The Italian Navy ship Amerigo Vespucci sailed round the Maltese islands earlier this week.
This was a scheduled activity for the cadets training programme of the Naval Academy of Livorno the Italian Embassy said.
A 106 cadets and the ship’s crew took part in the evocative ensign lowering ceremony when the Navy ship arrived in Valletta at sunset, illuminating the ship’s masts with the Italian Tricolore.
The ship was launched in 1931 and has always been used as a cadet training ship.
Gollcher Group, through its shipping Agency department assisted in the preparation for the sail around the Maltese Islands of this splendid Navy ship.
