THE GOLLCHER GROUP is celebrating another significant milestone – its 170th anniversary. The History of the Gollcher Group goes back to 1854 when Olof Fredrik Gollcher, a Swede who settled in Malta established O.F. Gollcher & Sons. When he first arrived in Malta a few years earlier in 1848 on his father`s vessel “Swalan”, few would have thought that the business he was to found would prosper and become a leader in Malta’s maritime industry.
As the company proudly commemorates its 170th anniversary, it is fitting to recall its generous legacy to Malta`s transport heritage by continuing to offer a wide range of services to the community:, Ship and Liner Agency, Freight Forwarding, Courier, Lloyds Agency (since 1883) and Marine Surveying, Malta Ship Registration and Travel. Inspired by the motto ” Framåt ”, which means “forward”, the Group is strategically positioned to adapt and navigate through challenges posed by the fast changing industries in which it operates.
At this time an ESG initiative in honour of this milestone was announced – the planting of 10,000 trees in Africa. Due to the rainy seasons each area in Africa has a different planting rotation, so while this can take a few months, it is anticipated that all trees will be planted by the end of this year.
