Every year the European Commission celebrates European Maritime Day. The main event will be over two days and it will be held in Brest, France between the 24th and 25th of May.
Some activities in Malta are being planned by a number of organizations to raise the visibility of maritime sectors and support an integrated approach to maritime affairs ……stay tuned for more information!
The scope behind this event is for professionals from businesses, governments, public institutions, NGOs and academia, to meet the European maritime community and network. The prominent topic of discussion is sustainable blue economy.
What is Blue Economy?
Blue Economy is a long-term strategy to support sustainable economic growth through oceans-related sectors and activities, while improving human well-being and social equity and preserving the environment.
European Maritime Day is a platform for Ocean Leaders to meet and discuss current issues that are affecting the maritime industry and how to move forward. The event will be split between inspirational speakers, thematic sessions, stakeholder workshops and pitch sessions organised by stakeholders and the European Commission.
For 2023 the event will be mainly held physically in Brest, France. However, the opening session will be accessible on webstream.
